BRUNCH FOR ONE: WHY I LOVE BEING ALONE

"Loneliness is sad, aloneness is blissful"

I've had some notes and pins on the topic of "alone time" planned for a while, but as I sit here finishing my coffee at White Birch, I'm typing away. This is exactly why I've wanted to touch on this, it's so peaceful sitting here in silence (minus the other soft conversations going on around me).

My alone time on Fridays is what I look forward to all week. It's 10:30 am, I've already been to the chiropractor (thank you dental hygiene and bad posture), I'm finishing some Tasty Toast and Life Proof coffee, and I feel soooo darn content.

Maybe it's the only child personality in me, but me-time is necessary, often. I have friends that wouldn't be caught dead out eating lunch alone or out shopping by themselves, and I do not understand that! I know not everyone wants or requires it, but I think it's so important to have time alone to clear your mind and just be happy being with yourself. It helps grow your confidence, reset and reboot your mind, gather and prioritize thoughts for the day/week ahead, and gain some independence.

You don't have to spend all day as a loner, haha. Sometimes I just like to drive a longer route to wherever I'm going, eat lunch alone at my favorite cafe during my lunch break, go to a coffee shop and blog one evening, anything! I'm honestly debating if I want to take a weekend trip, alone, to Charleston or NYC. Two opposite places lol, but I have the best time exploring by myself! I don't have to worry if it takes me an hour to decide what I want for dinner or if I want to sit on a bench for two and people watch. Everything is on my time <-- probably inner selfish only child speaking. Don't put your key to happiness in someone else's pocket! PS, as much as I wish I came up with that.. I didn't.

If you're like me and enjoy time alone, I'd love to know what your favorite way to spend it is! If being comfortable with alone time is something you struggle with, I truly hope this gave inspiration!

Here are some of my favorite pins to help explain much better then I can why I love alone time:
